Welcome back to overnight on WIBW-AM, your home for the Kansas City Royals.
If you missed it earlier, the Royals completed their three-game sweep of the Twins tonight. The Royals fell behind 3-0 early but they led 4-3 in the top of the ninth.
"Two on and two out here for Terrell. Count's 2 and 1. Bird, working from the stretch, looks in. The pitch. Terrell drives it back up the middle. A worm-burner along the carpet just past the glove of Patek. Otis scoops the ball in center. The throw home. Bostock around third. Porter takes the throw on a bounce. Oh! There’s a collision at the plate! Porter on his back. He has the ball! Porter has the ball! The Royals win!”
That was WIBW's Denny Matthews with the call.
The Royals have the day off tomorrow before their first meeting with the expansion Mariners at the Kingdome in Seattle, where they will look to extend their seven-game win streak. Denny and Fred White will have all the action for you right here on WIBW.
